Data Sovereignty
Your data belongs to you. Here's exactly how we ensure you remain in control.
What is Data Sovereignty?
Data sovereignty means you have full control over your information — where it's stored, who can access it, and how it's used.
In the context of AI, this means your thoughts, memories, patterns, and decisions remain yours — not training data for someone else's model, not raw material for surveillance capitalism.
How Codexify Ensures Data Sovereignty
1. Local-First Architecture
Your Construct lives on your devices. All processing happens locally using on-device models. Your data never leaves your control unless you explicitly choose to sync or use cloud features.
2. End-to-End Encryption
If you enable sync, your data is encrypted on your device before it's uploaded. We store encrypted blobs — we cannot read your Construct. Encryption keys are derived from your password, which we never see.
3. Zero-Knowledge Sync
Our sync servers are designed with zero-knowledge architecture. Even if compelled by law enforcement, we cannot decrypt your data. If you lose your password, we cannot recover it. This is by design.
4. Open Export Formats
You can export your entire Construct at any time in open, portable formats (JSON, Markdown, SQLite). Your data is never locked into proprietary systems. If we shut down, your tools remain yours.
5. No Training on Your Data
We will never use your Construct data to train AI models, improve our products, or build behavioral profiles. Your patterns are yours alone.
6. Optional Cloud Features
When you choose to use cloud models (for tasks that need more power), Codexify sends only the minimal context needed for that specific task. You can review and approve every cloud request.
Don't Trust Us — Verify
We believe in radical transparency. You shouldn't have to trust our claims — you should be able to verify them.
Audit the Code
Core encryption and sync logic will be open-sourced so security researchers can verify our architecture.
Monitor Network Traffic
Codexify operates transparently. You can monitor all network requests and verify that your data is encrypted before leaving your device.
Inspect Your Data
All local data is stored in readable formats. You can inspect the database, review stored memories, and verify what's being saved.
Legal Protections
Our terms of service guarantee that you retain all rights to your data. We explicitly disclaim any ownership or usage rights.
If we receive legal requests for user data, we will (1) notify you unless legally prohibited, (2) challenge overly broad requests, and (3) provide only the minimum required information.
Because of our zero-knowledge architecture, even if we wanted to share your Construct data, we cannot decrypt it.
Your Rights
• You have the right to access all your data at any time
• You have the right to export in open formats
• You have the right to delete everything
• You have the right to run Codexify entirely offline
• You have the right to audit our code and verify our claims
• You have the right to know exactly what data is sent to cloud services
Our Commitment
Data sovereignty is not a marketing claim — it's the foundation of everything we build.
If we ever compromise on this principle, we would rather shut down than betray your trust.
Your thoughts belong to you. Full stop.
